Our Principals M/s Firestone trace their roots to the establishment of The Firestone Tire & Rubber Company in the year 1900. It was then, 31 year old Harvey S. Firestone started tire production with 12 employees in Akron, Ohio.
ON the other side of the globe in 1931, Shojiro Ishibashi created Bridgestone Tire Company Ltd. by reversing the English translation of his own name . "Ishibashi," which literally means "stone bridge" in Japanese.
Shojiro Ishibashi of Bridgestone challenged his associates to "Serve Society with Superior Quality."
Harvey Firestone's constant goal for his company was to be the "Best Today - Still Better Tomorrow."
Both companies grew to become world famous brands and in the year 1990 M/s Bridgestone Americas Holding, Inc an international manufacturer with 38 production facilities throughout the Americas was formed when Bridgestone U.S.A. merged with The Firestone Tire & Rubber Company to make it the largest subsidiary of Bridgestone Corporation, tokyo, Japan.
The Bridgestone Group, which comprises Tokyo Based Bridgestone Corporation and its subsidiaries, is the world's largest manufacturer of tires and other rubber products. Bridgestone Group companies manufacture and market tires under the Bridgestone, Firestone, Dayton and other well-known brands.
Underlying the group's strong market position is its leadership in tire technology. That leadership is dramatically apparent in Formula One racing -- Bridgestone -- equipped teams and drivers have won the F1 season championships in each of the past six seasons and in other motor spots also.
Bridgestone Group companies complement their strong positions in tires with successful lines of business in industrial and civil engineering materials, automotive components, electro-materials, bicycles and other diversified products. They manufacture tire products at 45 plants and diversified products at more than 60 plants in 24 nations.
