With a robust 2.7 litre DOCH V6 engine Kia Sportage has the power to
get you where you want to go. And to get you out of trouble should the
need arise. There's plenty of grunt on tap, with 129kW of power. Equally
impressive is the torque delivery: 241Nm at 4,000rpm - a result of Kia's
three-phase variable intake system.
And to make the most of the power and torque, Sportage offers 4-speed
tiptronic-style transmission. In 'full automatic mode', enjoy the
convenience and ease of automatic gear shifting. Or, for a more sporting
drive, switch over to 'manual mode' and change up and down through the
gears with a simple push on the gear lever - there's no clutch to operate!

Sportage offers the best of all worlds, combining off-road capability
with the kind of ride and handling you'd expect from a passenger sedan.
Whether launching from start, accelerating up a hill or around a corner,
Sportage ensures maximum road hold and control.
Kia's Traction Control System (TCS) detects wheel slippage and responds
with the best possible modulation and distribution of power. In addition,
the advanced 4WD system automatically engages for extra traction and
stability on slippery roads or unstable terrain.
Meanwhile, the sophisticated MacPherson Strut front suspension and
sleek aerodynamics provide quiet refinement and excellent stability at
motorway speeds.
Leaves the road
when you want to.
Driving through city streets or cruising along the highway, the
Sportage operates in front wheel drive for optimum fuel economy. But the
moment the sophisticated electronics detect slippage in the front wheels,
4WD is automatically engaged, with up to 50% of power being transmitted to
the rear wheels.
When you're driving off-road or in extremely slippery conditions, you
can manually engage 4WD by pressing the 4WD lock button. Starting with a
50:50 split of power between front and rear wheels, the system will start
to reduce the power going to the rear wheels when you reach 30kph.
